Im S\u00fcden von Leonidio befindet sich eine kleine Hochebene: Peleta. Ein weiteres traditionelles Dorf mit zweist\u00f6ckigen Steinh\u00e4usern. Die Landschaft um die Ortschaft herum ist wild und unber\u00fchrt. Heute leben ungef\u00e4hr 200 Menschen in der Ortschaft. Der sch\u00f6ne Dorfplatz liegt im Schatten von Platanen. Traditionelle Tavernen bieten eigene Gerichte und nat\u00fcrlich auch den aromatischen Rotwein von Peleta. Vom Dorf aus hat man eine freie Sicht zum Argolischen Golf.<\/p>\n

In der Hochebene gibt es viele Weing\u00e4rten, da der steinige Boden und das milde Klima wohlschmeckende Fr\u00fcchte hervorbringen. In Peleta gibt es auch eine ber\u00fchmte H\u00f6hle, die bis zu 490 Meter in die Tiefe hinabgeht. Diese bietet H\u00f6hlenforschern eine Herausforderung und ist ein gefragter Ort. Ab und zu wird das Grundwasser ins Meer ausgestossen. Dieses Schauspiel ist ungew\u00f6hnlich, da es so aussieht, als ob grosse rote Augen auf der Wasseroberfl\u00e4che treiben w\u00fcrden. Die Dolinen von Peleta sind die tiefsten in Peleponnese und die zweit tiefsten in Griechenland. Ihre Erforschung ist bedeutungsvoll, da sie unbekannte Arten der Tier- und Pflanzenwelt beherbergen.<\/p>\n
